FINANCIAL CONTROLLER - EGYPT !!!
Reporting To : FINANCE DIRECTOR

ONLY EGYPTIANS CAN APPLY !

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITY:
To develop and maintain policies and procedures to enable the maintenance of financial records and preparation of management and statutory financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Direct the analysis and interpretation of statistical and financial information and assess operating results in terms of costs, budgets and operating policies/procedures.

RESPONSIBILITY:
1. Interpret periodical operating results as they affect the financial position of the company and make specific recommendations to management which will result in cost reduction and/or profit improvement.
2. Act as immediate contact with the company's independent external and internal auditors on all financial matters including Policies and Procedures and guest division co-ordination.
3. Supervise the maintenance of the company general ledger including timely reconciliation and review of specific accounts including guest divisions to ensure protection at all times of the company's assets.
4. Manage all local taxation requirements that affect the company, including (but not limited to) Income, Payroll, Property, Capital Gains, Fringe Benefits and Sales. Ensure appropriate returns are lodged on time with the relevant authorities. Keep abreast of developments that may have an impact on the company.
5. Liaise with Company's International Treasury department guidelines in managing local borrowing and cash management requirements of the affiliate. Act as immediate contact with the nominated bankers for purposes of funds deposits/withdrawals, borrowings, short term money market dealings and FX negotiations.
6. Participate and co-ordinate the development and maintenance of local financial policies and procedures compiled from time to time in accordance with Company's International and/or local requirements.
7. As a host division key co-ordinator, set up and maintain regular meetings with gust division’s management to cover:
(a) operating performance (b) internal control issues (c) other matters relevant to the business.

1. Authorisation of expenditure in accordance with the limits set by the Finance Department and approved by the Division Director.
2. Instigation/implementation of appropriate corrective actions to ensure regulatory, financial and Code of Conduct/Ethics compliance to local and international requirements.
3. Decisions made in accordance with approved procedures.
4. Approval and authorisation of official documents within the scope of the position.
5. Disposition of quality matters for products or systems within the scope of the position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Number of Employees : 8
Job Titles : Two Senior Accountants - Six Accountants

DECISION MAKING:
1. Decide or act upon issues with potential to impact other Departments/Areas (cross-functional impact).
2. Decide or act upon issues with potential for short-term/long-term impact on Department/s - Areas (within Department/Area and/or cross-functional).
3. Decide or act upon issues with critical or multi-year impact on Department/Division success.
4. Decide or act upon programmes or projects.

SUPERVISION REQUIRED:
Liaison with the Finance Director.

EDUCATION:
v Recognised accounting qualification, Degree in Accountancy (or equivalent).
v Exposure to Egyptian taxation issues and treasury related matters.

EXPERIENCE:
v 8 - 10 years in a senior accounting role with 2 - 5 years multi-national company exposure.
v Use of / responsible for mainframe systems.
v Staff responsibility (five or more persons).
